Federal Grants
Pell Grants are awarded to all qualified undergraduate students. Unlike loans, grants are not paid back. Applicants must meet financial qualifications, be enrolled in an eligible program, and working on their first degree. Although not everyone qualifies for these need-based grants, all students should apply.
Students who qualify for a Pell Grant receive one financial award per academic year. Awards for the current July 1, 2011 — June 30, 2012 academic year range from $555 to $5,550. Individual amounts are based on the program a student is enrolled in, the number of credit hours that will be earned, and any other Pell Grant program regulations.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) provide money to undergraduates who demonstrate exceptional financial need. They do not require repayment. FSEOG awards funds ranging from $375 to $1500 per academic year, based on a student’s financial need, program of study, and availability of funds to our school. Pell Grant students are given priority for these grants. This program is not available at our Minnesota location.
